LMC

Creative Agency Website

Context

While working at LMC I was asked to conceptualise and improve their current website within a few days. As this was a short project, just to conceptualise the home page and layout options, I did not have enough time for extensive research and development.

Analyse

I started off by analysing the current issues with the website and making a journey map.
Here are my findings:

  • The website consists of a long scroll, which may confuse, discourage or frustrate users if they are looking for a specific type of work such as motion graphics.
  • The drop down menu options can be confusing as each link does not lead to a page well categorised.

Research

My work flow consisted of basic research of other creative agencies and their websites to find inspiration as well as standard patterns. For a spark creativity, I looked into social media and other design platforms such as Dribble for inspirations.

Solution

My solution to these two problems was to remove the long scroll of content and categorise the content based on their design type (Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, Photography etc.)

As this would be an excellent replacement for the drop down menu for "What we do" tab, I replaced it with work which drops down to the different categories of work that LMC has to offer.

Final Touches

As I have removed the "What we do" tab, I wanted to display the core values on the home page along with an introduction. Therefore, I made an animated text which shows the core values.

To add a spark to the categories, I assigned each category with its own icon. If given enough time, I would create custom icons for each category as well as animate them to remove that static feeling.
